The organization presents itself under the name of "Meydan TV" and "azadliq.org" website have not been registered to operate in Azerbaijan, Hikmat Hajiyev spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told, AzVision.az reports.
These organizations didn’t apply to the ministry for the registration, he stressed.
Hajiyev noted that, `BBC Azerbaijan` and its employees undergo accreditation regularly.
Unfortunately, despite several warnings, television channels like `Interaz`, ` Euroaz`, web sites such as `Voice of America` , `Meydan TV` and many other foreign mass media organizations do not obey the requirements of the law and are engaged in illegal actions, Ali Hasanov told.
Recent detention of several mass media representatives by law enforcement bodies pursue the goal to invite their activities to be fit to the legal criteria indicated in the `Regulation on the accreditation of foreign mass media representatives in the Republic of Azerbaijan`.
In this regard, the activity of "Meydan TV" and "azadliq.org" sites is illegal.
